Customer Files - Adding Ad Source
It would be really helpful to be able to add the Ad Source field in the customer file so that each time a salesperson enters an order he/she doesn't have to keep adding it in OE
Note of Explanation:
If a customer found us because of Google and was a property arrangement company, there would be multiple jobs for them, because we can’t assign an ad source to the original customer file, we will have to remember where we found them each time or they will be come an existing customer which is what we don’t want.

My take on this for what it's worth:
Firstly, I would make Ad Source a required field.
When I get a new client, I want to record the ad source that brought them in, but only on that first order. For subsequent orders, I want to record the ad source that prompted them to come in for each of those occasions. If they are not responding to an ad, I would record them as an "Existing Client".
If I continue to record Ad Source according to what brought them in first time, I am going to get a distorted picture of how effective my recent advertising has been.
I partly agree with Chris on this one. If a customer is existing I would want them to be automatically listed as a return customer with the ability to change that if they came in because of a specific advertisement.
