Error #3 or Error #9 while trying to create a purchase order from Order Entry

This is a Clarion error – meaning, this is not a problem cause by RFMS written code. Programming has sent in all information gathered on this error to Clarion for resolution.

Users will usually encounter this error by trying to generate the purchase order via PO Truck icon in Order Entry. This error is not isolated to Unreferenced line or only those that were imported from Products or Inventory. It can happen to any type of a line. The error is sporadic.

While the error is up on the screen, the Inventory module might lock up. If the error occurred when generating a roll PO, then Purchase Orders and Roll Inventory screen in Inventory module will be inaccessible. Other users attempting to access those screen will get ‘Inventory Stopped Responding’ wrap errors. Once the error is cleared in Order Entry, Inventory will be accessible again.

Exiting either Customer Orders screen or exiting Order Entry usually clears this error. Users can also go to Inventory module and generate that purchase order from Auto PO screen.

Solution:
Option 1: Close Customer Orders screen and Re-open. Then proceed to generate PO through Order Entry. Or exit Order Entry and go back in.
Option 2: Generate PO through Auto PO in Inventory.
