How To: Determine if a workstation is on the Network

Cause:

Solution:

1.  Try to open Internet Explorer.  If this opens then the pc is at least plugged into the network and obtaining an IP Address.

2.  Browse the Network to determine if the Server can be seen. 

     a.  To do this open the 'My Network Places' which can be found either on the Desktop or on the Start Menu.

     b.  Click on View Network Computers

NOTE: If the Domain( main network ) is shown double click and try to browse to the Server.  If the only item is the individual computer, then the PC needs to be configured.  Please consult your Local IT Professional.
