Details:
1. Go to the file location that the backup is located at. For this example, we are going to use a SQL Backup and the default folder of (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup ).

2. Right click on the file and choose 'Send To' and then 'Compressed (zipped) Folder' to start the compression process.
NOTE: This works with files smaller than 2 GB in size, anything over this will require a program like Winrar

3. Once the file is compressed, there should be two files in the folder now( original file and compressed file )
