Import Journal Entries in RFMS NEXT

 

Import journal entries from an external CSV file.

The Import Process

  1. From the View Journal screen click the Import button, import button.png.
  2. The Import Journal dialog offers a few different options.

    1. Download an Import Template. Fill out the template and then upload it.
    2. Upload a CSV file with rows that will correspond to journal entries. Only a single file can be uploaded at a time.
    3. The checkbox for "allow posting to closed periods" will let you post journal entries with a date that falls within a closed journal period.
  3. After a file has been added select Apply.

  4. The View Journal page will then display the imported entries.

  • Does the Account Code (column B) match exactly the way it appears in the Chart of Accounts? Be sure that the formatting for the cells allows the text to appear exactly as it needs to.
  • Is the date in the correct format? All entries must follow the format set in your RFMS System Options
  • Do the credits and debits balance?
  • Are the credits formatted properly with no currency symbol?
  • Are there any duplicate entries?
Possible Errors

Failed Import

  • Check to make sure that the CSV file is closed before selecting Apply
  • Multiple periods cannot be used. All entries must have the same month/year

  • Can you replace a corrected one with the same date? Copy and replace option?
