RFMS Smart Search Tips

  • The Enter Key can be used to execute the search.

  • The main thing to remember is to type in as much information as you know.  This is not a one field limited search like the tabs use to be.  For example, if you know the customer name and address type both in to the RFMS Smart Search Field.

  • Think of the space between words as "and".

  • To find an exact search, use the pipe symbol/vertical bar ( | ). For example, if you were looking for 8 River, then you would type |8 River| in the RFMS Smart Search.

  • There will no longer be a message that reads “no records met criteria” on the Find screen. A blank screen indicates this.

  • No click is necessary to start typing in the RFMS Smart Search field.

  • If Display “Zero Available” inventory in Order Entry  is checked on the Find screen then RFMS Smart Search will also follow.

  • When using PC: to search, the two digit product code must be enter after colon for the search to work.

  • When using the RFMS Smart Search, the order you type in the words does not matter.  In the old version of RFMS, you had to type the last name first.

  • To sub sort by columns on the browse, click the first column header to sort by then ctrl-click on the next column header.  It will show as +2.

  • To search after using a filter, use Ctrl-S in the browse.

  • Make sure when you have "busy" or "nosy" words in your search such as &, and, the, a single letter etc., you try to use somethig that can narrow it down even more. For example if you are looking for J & J Interiors in Nashville, a good search type would be J & Nash.

  • When searching in the Purchase Order screen, RFMS Smart Search assumes you are looking for a Stock PO if the letters ST are at the beginning of a word.  It will put # in front of the word.  If Looking for a word that begins with ST, only type the letters after st.
