The main thing to remember is to type in as much information as you know. This is not a one field limited search like the tabs use to be. For example, if you know the customer name and address type both in to the RFMS Smart Search Field.
Think of the space between words as "and".
To find an exact search, use the pipe symbol/vertical bar ( | ). For example, if you were looking for 8 River, then you would type |8 River| in the RFMS Smart Search.
There will no longer be a message that reads “no records met criteria” on the Find screen. A blank screen indicates this.
No click is necessary to start typing in the RFMS Smart Search field.
If Display “Zero Available” inventory in Order Entry is checked on the Find screen then RFMS Smart Search will also follow.
When using PC: to search, the two digit product code must be enter after colon for the search to work.
When using the RFMS Smart Search, the order you type in the words does not matter. In the old version of RFMS, you had to type the last name first.
To sub sort by columns on the browse, click the first column header to sort by then ctrl-click on the next column header. It will show as +2.
To search after using a filter, use Ctrl-S in the browse.
Make sure when you have "busy" or "nosy" words in your search such as &, and, the, a single letter etc., you try to use somethig that can narrow it down even more. For example if you are looking for J & J Interiors in Nashville, a good search type would be J & Nash.
When searching in the Purchase Order screen, RFMS Smart Search assumes you are looking for a Stock PO if the letters ST are at the beginning of a word. It will put # in front of the word. If Looking for a word that begins with ST, only type the letters after st.
