Full Inventory User Guide
This selection allows the entry of temporary holds against inventory. These are usually used when an actual sell has not yet taken place. Soft Reserves are added, edited or deleted from Order Entry>File> (Item Inventory or Roll Inventory)
Adding Soft Reserves
- From the inventory display screen, highlight the inventory record for which you want to place a soft reserve.
- Click the Soft Reserve button
. - Click the Insert button
.

Changing Soft Reserves
- From the inventory display screen, highlight the inventory record that contains the soft reserve.
- Click the Soft Reserve button
. - Click the Edit button
. - Edit the desired information.

Deleting a Single Soft Reserve
Soft reserves are not automatically removed from the system. To remove all soft reserves up to a specific date, click the Clear button
.
To remove a soft reserve from an inventory record:
- From the inventory display screen, highlight the inventory record that contains the soft reserve.
- Click the Soft Reserve button
. - Click the Delete button
. - Click Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Clearing Soft Reserves
- From the inventory display screen, click the Soft Reserve button. (You must have at least one inventory record displayed even if it does not have a soft reserve)
- Click the Clear button
. - Enter a clear date or accept the default date. The default date is one day less than the system date. Soft reserves that have not expired may not be cleared.

- Click the Proceed button to begin.
Soft Reserve Field Explanations
First Name
Enter the first name of the customer.
Last Name
Enter the last name of the customer.
Sales Rep
Enter the name of the selling representative or click the lookup button to pick from the existing sales person file. See Sales Reps for information on adding a new sales rep.
Length
Enter the length of the product being reserved. The amount reserved cannot exceed the maximum amount shown. Skip the entry in the length field and proceed to the quantity field. The system will do the conversion.
If you enter a length with an odd amount to the right of the decimal point, a conversion chart will appear. The system will estimate to the closest inch. You may accept the suggestion or you may select your own from the chart.
Quantity
Enter the quantity being reserved.
Click the All button to reserve all the remaining quantity of a particular roll or item.
Start Date
Enter the starting date of the reserve or you may press the F8 key to access the on-line calendar.
Reserve Days
Enter the number of days the reserve is to be in effect. You can skip this entry and enter the expiration date instead. The system will calculate the number of reserve days based upon the Start and Expiration Dates entered.
Expiration Date
Enter the date on which the soft reserve will expire. Or, you may enter the Start Date and the number of Reserve Days and the system will calculate the expiration date automatically. You may also press the F8 key to access the on-line calendar.
