Cyncly Pay Release Notes

 

June 24, 2024

Release version 1.13.0 notes:

New Features:

  • Settlement report: “Transaction Date” updated to show when the payment was captured instead of created. Normally, payments are captured seconds after they are created so it was a negligible difference. But authorizations can be captured several days after they are created which caused confusion on the report.
  • Same day partial refunds will now return a proportional amount of the fee. Previously, no fees were returned on a same day partial refund. Only same day full refunds would return the fee.
  • Card Present Payment Improvements
    • Save card during terminal payment fixed. Previously, even if you checked the box to save the card info, the card was not saved.
    • Cancelling card present payment will now reset the terminal. Previously, the payment remained on the terminal until another payment was sent to it.
    • Blocking a payment sent to a terminal that is currently in use. Previously, if a terminal was waiting for a customer to tap their card and another user sent a payment to that terminal, the new payment would take over the terminal. Now, the user is provided a message that the terminal is in use and they must wait.
  • Merchant Portal login now redirects the user automatically to their previously logged in account. Previously, the user had to choose their account every time. The user can still change account by clicking the Change Account link under their name.
  • Implementation improvements:
    • tokens are now automatically generated when the account is created. Previously, the merchant had to login to the portal and click the “Regenerate” button to get the token.
    • The token “Regenerate” button is now disabled in the merchant portal. Previously, a merchant could login to the portal and regenerate a token which could break their integration
  • Support Portal:
    • New section to view and export payments across all accounts. Previously, support would have to access each account individually to view payments.
    • Added button to manually reinstate funds from a dispute that was won if the automatic reinstatement failed for any reason.
    • New merchants created after onboarding are now “locked” and unable to process payments until support “unlocks” the account in Stripe. This prevents unknown entities access our onboarding application, creating a merchant and processing payments without our knowledge.
    • Minor support portal bug fixes
  • Webhook processing improvements for edge case scenarios.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

Release version #20240410 – We will change to the server naming convention next release and start with 1.13.0.

New Features:

  • Time zone support improvements. We updated the portal screens to show times in the time zone of the account as defined in the settings. This is configurable by the end user and will be preset for them using the account’s address.
  • Cyncly Design. We made minor updates to the UI to match the Cyncly design pattern.
  • Terminal payment improvements. We added various process improvements to the card present payment process including displaying current terminal status, canceling a payment after initiated on a terminal, blocking payments on busy terminals and a timeout period to reset a terminal if a payment takes too long.
  • Support portal chargebacks. We improved the ability to manage chargebacks for our internal users including automated transfers when chargebacks happen and when disputes are won.

Enhancements:

Checkout page has been revised to include the following:

  • Invoice number and amount for review.
  • Billing address (prefilled with the customer file information):
    • This is editable, if needed.
    • Zip code is required.
    • Image below.

 

Full AVS

  • This will allow you to add Full Address Verification as a feature in the near future. Please reach out to support if you would like to enable this feature on your account.
  • Because the billing address information is present on the checkout page, it can be verified against card data to reduce the risk of fraud.

Configurable Statement Descriptor:

  • The business name can be updated to preferred name on customer's billing statement.
    • This can be edited by clicking Configurations > Manage Account.
    • The customer's website is the descriptor by default.
    • The business name must have 22 characters or less.
    • A future enhancement will cap the input on the manage account page. 

Batch Report email

  • Now includes the total of the payout in the email body.

Bug Fixes:

  • Settlement report now shows all settlement data including all refunds and fees.
  • Terminal error resolved.
    • When the terminal is offline and the user tries to use it, the system presents an error.
    • When the payment is completed without card present, the card information was not informed and now is updated.
