Journal Entries Not Appearing in Bank Register

Error:

Cause:

Journal entries posted to the bank account code are not changing the balance in the bank register.

Journal shows $300.00 less than bank register at month end.

Solution:

All changes to the bank balance must be processed from the bank register by creating a bank charge or deposit, not through Journal Entries.

Entering a bank charge will reduce the running balance in the bank register.

And the General Ledger now balances with the bank register at month end.
