Adding a Special Cost to a Line

There is a simple way to allow a Special Cost to be added to a Quote, Estimate, or Order line by using the Allow User to Edit Special Cost When Adding a LIne system option. 

Orders and Quotes

If the system option Allow User to Edit Special Cost When Adding a Line is set to yes, then a Special PO Info button will appear on the line screen in Quotes and Orders.

BidPro

If it is set to yes, then in BidPro, a Special Cost Comment field will appear.

If there is a special PO Comment, then when exported the cost and comment will come over to the order lines in the Special PO Info field.

If there is not a comment, the export will check against the product cost, and if there is a difference, then it will import the cost and add the comment “Cost Change (BidPro)” to the Special PO Info fields.

Purchase Order

The Cost field will be highlighted violet if there is a special cost that has been added on the order line.

The Comment in the Special PO Cost screen will display on the Purchase Order screen in the Comment field.

Notes

Another tip is don't forget to use Line Notes to list any details about the Special Cost that might be needed later such as to verify or correct.
