Product Import/Export (PIE) is a tool to import and export products into/out of the RFMS Product File. This tool uses a single spreadsheet for Rolls, Items, and Services. The older import/export required the use of multiple spreadsheets, and will no longer be supported.
PIE is the method used for importing product catalogs for vendors who do not participate in B2B. These records are marked as type "imported" and there for have some fields that would presumably be coming from the supplier marked as not editable manually.
To use PIE, two hours of training of the tool must be completed to receive the access code to turn it on.
Once Product Import/Export (PIE) is activated with the access code, the old Product Importer and Product Exporter cannot be used.
Where does the column information go?
The plan is to phase out the old version of the import/export and have all RFMS users using Product Import/Export (PIE).
